Obituary

Patrick Joseph Clune, 82, of Gouldsboro, PA, passed away on November 3, 2023, surrounded by his loving family in Vero Beach, FL. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, on April 4, 1941, to the late Patrick and Margaret Haran Clune. Patrick's life was marked by dedication, service, and a passion for simple joys.

Patrick was a man of commitment and hard work. He served his country honorably in the US Army, a testament to his love for his homeland. He went on to enjoy a remarkable 38-year career as a manager for the Brooklyn Union Gas Company, where he left an indelible mark of dedication and reliability.

Patrick's faith was an integral part of his life, as he was a devoted member of the Catholic community. His spirituality brought him solace and strength throughout his journey.

In his younger days, Patrick had a magnetic personality and a knack for making friends easily. He and his friends shared countless memorable moments, enjoying music and creating lasting bonds. His ability to bring joy to those around him was truly special.

Patrick had a passion for collecting coins and baseball cards, which was a reflection of his appreciation for the past and the stories behind each unique item. He found solace in these hobbies and cherished them throughout his life. One of Patrick's most cherished pastimes was visiting the Englishtown flea market every weekend. There, he would trade and buy collectibles that held a special place in his heart. The flea market became more than a place to acquire items; it was a meeting ground for Patrick to connect with new friends. He nurtured these friendships, even after moving away, and they continued to bring joy and companionship into his life.

A remarkable aspect of Patrick's life was his love for walking. He could be found walking many miles every day, a testament to his resilience, determination, and love for the outdoors.

In addition to his parents, Patrick was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara, his son, Alex and his two sisters, Mary Larsen and Eleanor Clancy. He leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories cherished by his surviving family. He is survived by his stepdaughter, Debra Knight, and her two children, Mikayla and Emma, who held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by his nephew, Allen, and nieces Terry, Deborah, and Barbara. Patrick's love and presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Funeral Mass to celebrate Patrick's life will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, where we will come together to honor his memory.
