Peter DAmore, 77, of Vero Beach, FL died Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at the Indian River Medical Center.
Mr. DAmore was born in Grove City, PA and has lived in Vero Beach since 1977.
He worked as a grocer with A&P Grocery in Grove City for over 30 years and with Piggly Wiggly in Vero Beach where he retired from Kroger Grocery. He joined Barth Construction, Inc. in 1985 until 1994.
He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church and was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved working with the St. Helen Harvest Festival and was honored along with his wife with the Father Hugh Flynn Award for Outstanding Services in 2007.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years Dolores Schlitt DAmore, his daughter Sara Lee and sons John and Daniel DAmore of Naples, FL. Step children Phillip H. Barth III and wife Allyson, Theresa Hale, Eva Andresen and husband Harald all living in Vero Beach, Edward Barth and wife Rita, Mary Ann Dodier and husband Leo Bud and Barbara Felgar and husband Darrayl all living in California. Grandchildren Christine Hale, Kelley Barth, Tyler Andresen, Matthew Barth, Jason Barth, Jeffrey Barth, Dana Andresen, Justin and Casey Felgar.
He was preceded in death by parents Mead Sr. and Lari Plink DAmore, brothers William DAmore, killed at sea on USS Underhill 1945, John DAmore, Mead DAmore Jr., sister Grace Moretti, and son Lane DAmore all of Grove City and step-grandson Clay Edward Barth of Vero Beach.
Services: The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM, Friday, October 9, 2009 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 10 2009 at St. Helen Catholic Church followed by interment at Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach.
