Philip C. Collins age 87 of Vero Beach passed away on March 4, 2013 at Indian River Medical Center.
Philip was born to Charles and Anna Collins on July 17, 1925 in Highland New York. He served proudly in the United States Navy. Philip received several medals including World War II Victory, American Theatre Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, and European-African Middle-Eastern Campaign Medal.
He was a plumber/steam fitter for over 40 years with Local #201. He was a 3rd generation volunteer firefighter in Highland New York, and also a member of the B.P.O.E. Elks in both New York and Florida. Philip was also a member of the American Legion for over 50 years. An avid remote control boat builder and hobbyist. A member of Our Savior Lutheran Church for over 12 years.
Philip leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 43 years Arleen "AC" Collins of Vero Beach, FL; daughter Pamela Kotofsky of TN; sisters Marie Dumas and Jean Collins both of New York; Very special niece Kim Flaherty of Little Fairy, New York; and 3 wonderful nephews Peter Geisler of Tampa, FL; Richard Geisler of Humble, TX; and Joseph Geisler of New Hartford, CT. Philip is preceded in death by a daughter Cynthia "Cindy" Collins.
