Randolph L. Townsend's Obituary
Randolph L. Townsend, 85, of Vero Beach, FL died Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
He was born March 13, 1923 in Lynn, MA and moved to Vero Beach eight years ago from Boca Raton, FL.
Mr. Townsend was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during WWII.
Prior to his retirement he had worked for the US Government Coast Guard as a Civilian Employee working as an Industrial Manager for 32 years in Boston, MA. Mr. Townsend was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Aileen S. Townsend of Vero Beach; daughter Sharon Townsend of Raleigh, NC; son Randolph Townsend, Jr., of Beverly, MA; four grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
A private family service will be held with VFW Post 3918 Honor Guard performing military honors.
Memorials contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, Southeast Florida, 2701 N. Australian Ave, West Palm Beach, FL 33407.
