Reinhold Ron A. Scherrer, 87, of Vero Beach, FL died Friday, May 21, 2010 at his home.
Mr. Scherrer was born December 16, 1922 in Detroit, MI and moved to Vero Beach 29 years ago from Farmington Hills, MI.
He had worked for Michigan Bell for 35 and a half years prior to his retirement and was a veteran of WW II, serving as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army. Mr. Scherrer was a member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach and the National Chapter of the VFW.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Eleanor Scherrer of Vero Beach; sons, Ronald Scherrer of Erie, CO, Dennis Scherrer of Vero Beach and Tom Scherrer of Vero Beach; daughter Marianne Quesnelle of Liberty Township, OH, eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a granddaughter Janet Wilson.
Services: A Mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Thursday, May 27, 2010 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA/Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
