Richard Campolo, age 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 30, 2024, with his beloved wife, Nancy, by his side. Born in Syracuse, NY, on May 4, 1943, he was a son of the late Anthony and Antoinette (Ingelinera) Campolo.
Richard dedicated 23 years of service as a police officer with the city of Pembroke Pines, FL, before retiring. He also served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. A proud member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Broward County Police Benevolent Association, Richard was deeply committed to his community and his fellow officers.
He was a devoted member of St. Maximillian Kolbe Catholic Church in Pembroke Pines for 19 years and, more recently, a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach for over 20 years. Richard was an active participant in the Knights of Columbus at both churches, reflecting his strong faith and dedication.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; his son, Michael; and his siblings, Patrick, Anthony, Marie, Rosemary, and Kathy. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Vanessa, Nicholas, and Zachary, and his great-grandchildren, Cameron and Amelia.
Richard lived a life full of love, dedication, and service. He is remembered for his kindness, integrity, and the warmth he brought to everyone around him. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose family was the center of his world.
Richard will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his unwavering dedication, service, and the love he shared with his family and community.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 10:00am until 12:00Noon at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home 1950 20th St., Vero Beach, FL 32960.
A prayer service is planned for Thursday, September 5, 2024 during the visiting hours of 10:00AM - 12:00PM at the funeral home and will be announced as soon as confirmed. Richard will be laid to rest in Hollywood Memorial Gardens East (Taft St.) day and time will be announced as soon as confirmed.
