Richard Johnston Derrick, Jr., of Fort Pierce, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on September 5, 2025.

Born in Binghamton, New York, to the late Richard Johnston and Auralia (Wilk) Derrick, Richard lived a full and vibrant life. He will be remembered for his quick wit, intelligence, and love of reading. Richard's greatest joy was spending time with the people he loved. He had a close circle of lifelong friends and treasured their many adventures together—whether traveling, cruising, dancing, or simply laughing in each other's company.

Richard is survived by the love of his life, Bernadette, with whom he shared 67 wonderful years of marriage. He is also survived by his daughter, Jill; son, Brian; his beloved grandchildren; and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and happiness.

Richard's warmth, humor, and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
