Richard "Dick" M. Whitney, Sr.

Richard "Dick" M. Whitney, Sr., 77, of Vero Beach, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Indian River Medical Center. Mr. Whitney was born September 25, 1935 in Clearwater, KS. He traveled coast to coast with his wife during his Naval military career before residing in Vero Beach for the past 23 years. He was married to Winifred "Winnie" Louise Huffman Whitney, who passed away on December 8, 2012 for 56 years. He is survived by their 4 children; Mrs. Janet Duffield of Woodbine, Georgia, Mrs. Terri Carpenter of Swannanoa, North Carolina, Richard M. Whitney, Jr. of Yulee, Florida, and Rodney E. Whitney of Vero Beach, Florida. There are 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, all dearly loved. Memorial services are pending.
