George Stone, 83, of Vero Beach passed away Friday, September 21, 2012 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.

Mr. Stone was born September 8, 1929 in New Brunswick, NJ. He had been a resident of Vero Beach since 1997, coming from Valkaria.

Prior to his retirement he worked as an electrician and a former member of the IBEW local union 456 in New Jersey.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years Angie Stone; sons Richard G. Stone Jr. of Vero Beach, James E. Stone of St. Augustine, and Michael T. Stone of Orlando; daughter Maryann S. Mashburn of Vero Beach; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Gene Stone and Charles Stone, and his sister Margaret Galati.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce.
