Richard E. Keegan, 90, of Fort Pierce, FL died on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Keegan was born on May 9, 1922 in England, he had been a resident of Fort Pierce, FL for 17 years, coming from Queens, NY.
He served in the US Army during WWII and received the Purple Heart. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Continental Insurance Company as an underwriter for 25 years.
He served as an Officer for the Knights of Columbus and was the Treasurer of the COP Spanish Lakes Fairways. He was a member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church of Vero Beach and the VFW Post 8058, West Side Lodge, in Fort Pierce.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Violet Keegan of Fort. Pierce, FL; niece, Moryha Kasten of Ocala, FL and his nephew, Gerald Haupert of Boca Raton, FL.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Monday, August 29, 2011 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, of Vero Beach, FL. Military honors will follow.
