Richard Dick Lapointe, 73, died peacefully on December 11, 2009 at the Vero beach VNA Hospice House after an extended illness.
He was born and raised in Skowhegan, ME the youngest of ten children of Lumina Samson LaPointe. He spent four years in the Navy where he met his wife the former Rachel Picard at his final duty station in Brunswick, ME. They recently celebrated their Golden Anniversary. Dick retired seasonally to Vero Beach in 1998 from Brewer, ME after nearly 25 years in automobile sales at Down East Toyota. He worked part-time at various golf courses in Vero Beach.
Surviving besides his wife are four children, Jeffrey (Michele) of Orrington, ME, Todd (Megan) of Baltimore, MD, Kelly (Shannon) of Brewer, ME and Tracy Simpson (Joe) of Bangor, ME. He also leaves behind four grandsons, two granddaughters, and one great-granddaughter.
Services: A gathering will be held 5-7 PM, Sunday, December 13, 2009 at the Royal Palm Clubhouse at Vista Royale in Vero Beach.
