Richard L. McComas, Sr., 75, of Vero Beach, FL died Sunday, July 20, 2008 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
Mr. McComas was born December 13, 1932 in Branchland, WV and moved to Vero Beach three years ago from Charlotte, NC.
He had been an office supervisor with American Electric Power, most recently with Kentucky Power, and retired after 42 years of service. Mr. McComas had served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War, was a member of the Kentucky Colonels and a Past President of the Jaycees in Louisa, KY.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years Claudette McComas of Vero Beach; son Richard L. McComas, Jr. of St. Joseph, MI; three daughters Cynthia Sturgill of Lancester, SC, Rhonda Farley of Cutler Bay, FL and Denise Hunt of Charlotte, NC; a sister Joan Mabe of Milton, WV; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a his parents Dallas Clyde and Elsie Mae McComas, sister Barbara McComas and a great-grandchild.
Services: A private family service will take place in West Virginia at a later date.
