Richard Edward Mitchell. 69, of Vero Beach died Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
Mr. Mitchell was born March 19, 1942 in Providence, RI. He had been a resident of Vero Beach since 1978, coming from Massachusetts.
He was an usher at St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
He served in the United States Army National Guard Reserves for six years.
He worked for the Indian River County Road and Bridge Department for 21 years.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Barbara Mitchell of Vero Beach, FL.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Helen Building Fund at 2085 Tallahassee Avenue, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
Services: A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at St. Helen Catholic Church. Visitation will be held at 12:30 - 1:30 PM at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach, FL.
