Richard F. Tamblyn Jr., 54, of Vero Beach passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018 with his family by his side.
He was born in Geneva, Ohio, January 12, 1964 to the Late Richard F. Tamblyn Sr. & survived Judith L. Tamblyn of Jensen Beach, FL.
Rick, Richard, Ricky, or Dickie was a student athlete and Eagle scout, he graduated from Geneva High school in 1982. He attended Thiel College, in Greenville, PA., and was on the DIV III Football team and was also an active member of the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity on campus. Seeking Sun and Science, he transferred to Florida Institute of Technology of Jensen Beach, Florida in 1984 to pursue a dual BS degree in Environmental Science and Aquaculture Technology, which he achieved in 1988.
After years of Aquaculture & Environmental work at Sea Farm, Inc. and Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution, he pursued a Nursing Degree at Indian River State College, Ft. Pierce, Florida (2002) he received his nursing degree and then became a RN.
He touched many people with his beloved bedside manner, unforgettable humor, and positive attitude towards life. As a Registered Nurse, he worked in hospitals throughout Florida and California. Some of the places he touched people lives were In Okeechobee (Raulerson Hospital) in Ft. Pierce (Lawnwood Hospital) in Atlantis (JFK Hospital) in Melbourne (Holmes Regional Hospital) in California (Eden & Oroville Medical Centers) and in Vero Beach (Indian River Medical Center). He was a giant who had a heart of gold to many, and was meant to be in the medical field caring for others.
He is survived by his girlfriend, Vicki Marchand, mother, Judith L. Tamblyn, brother, Mark M. Tamblyn, children, Richard F. Tamblyn III, Kara A. Tamblyn, Samuel Tamblyn, and Sarah Tamblyn; grandchildren, Mark M. Tamblyn, Mallory Tamblyn, Khina Tamblyn, and nieces, Elaine M. Tamblyn and Margie T. Tamblyn.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 PM, Friday, July 20, 2018 at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach, FL. A Memorial Service will follow at 7:00 PM.
