Richard "Goofy" Wilkins, 53, of Vero Beach, Florida passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016.

He was born to Dillman Stephen and Ruth Ann Wilkins on February 1, 1963. Richard was married to Doris Marie Wilkins for 14 years.

Richard was a construction worker and a family man. He served as a bingo caller for the Vero Beach Eagles Club, a cook and bingo caller for the Vero Beach American Legion, and a bell ringer for the Salvation Army. Richard also enjoyed fishing and roller-skating.

Richard is survived by his children Cheryl Wilkins of New Jersey, Richard M. Wilkins, Jr. of Pennsylvania, Robert Shackleford (Heidi) of New Jersey, Tara Maldonado of New Jersey, Franklyn Newby (Jennifer) of New Jersey, Joseph Newby (Cassandra) of New Jersey, Samantha Newby-Wilcox (Chris) of Hawaii, and Nicole Newby (Artie) of New Jersey. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, Malachi Wilkins, Alex Newby, Mason Newby, Marissa Newby, Robert Newby, Athala Wilcox, Leiba Wilcox, and Esperance Wilcox. He is also survived by his brothers Kenneth and David, and his sisters Barbara and Glenda. He is predeceased by his parents and his granddaughter, Aria Shackleford.

A memorial service for Richard will be held in New Jersey at a later date.
