Richmond Glover, 90, of Vero Beach, FL died Friday, July 17, 2009 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach after a brief illness.
Mr. Glover was born August 11, 1918 in Ayr, Scotland and moved to Vero Beach in 1975 from Wheeling, WV.
Richmond served in the US Navy on the PCE 'R' Rescue Ship during WWII. Prior to retirement he was an Assistant Fire Chief of the City of Wheeling, WV. He was a lifelong lover of golf and the Steelers. He was a lifetime member of the BPOE Elks Lodge #28 in Wheeling, WV and a member of the International Association of Fire Fighters.
Survivors include his sons Richmond W. Glover of Palm City, FL, Daniel Glover of Westbrook, Maine; daughter Janet Glover of Vero Beach; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife Lorena Strauss, his second wife Mary Kennelly, and a brother Matthew.
Services: Visitation will be held from 10am -12 pm Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Indian River Estates Auditorium with the Reverend William Mead presiding.
