Obituary

Robert Paul Barnett, 91, died April 28,2013 at VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach, Florida. He was born on January 22, 1922. He lived in Vero Beach for more than 25 years coming from Pittsburgh, PA. He was a veteran of World War 11 having served with the 8th Air Force in the European Theater of Operations and based in England where he met his wife, Betty, who preceded him in death after 65 years of marriage. He was the lead bombardier in a Bomb Group of B17 aircraft flying 25 missions over Germany from 1944 to 1945. He was a past member of the Vero Beach Country Club where he played many rounds of golf. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Vero Beach, having served as Elder and later as Head Usher. He was a member of the Presbyterian Men's Group and had a record attendance at their Tuesday morning breakfasts. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Vero Beach on Friday,May 3 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Timothy Womack officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 520 Royal Palm Boulevard, Vero Beach or the VNA Hospice, 37th Street, Vero Beach.
