Obit: Robert Paul Beatty

Robert Paul Beatty, 73, of Vero Beach, FL and Dracut, MA died Sunday, January 1, 2012 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach,FL.

Mr. Beatty was born October 30, 1938 in Basking Ridge, NJ and has been a seasonal resident of Vero Beach since 2001.

Before his retirement, he had worked as an Air Traffic Controller and Tower Manager for the Federal Aviation Administration. He served in the United States Navy.

He was a member of Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Church of Vero Beach.

Survivors include his wife, Reba; two sons; Paul Beatty of Maryland, Lane Beatty of New Hampshire; step-son Jeffrey Case of Michigan; brother William Beatty of Arizona and two sisters, Barbara Axt, of Flanders, NJ and Gail Fortner, of Tom's River, New Jersey. Also, six grandchildren.

Services: A service will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 11am at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach with Reverend Scott Alexander officiating. Visitation will be held from 10-11am at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Evergreen Cemetery in Basking Ridge, NJ.
