Obituary

Robert Otto (Bob) Leinberger, 94, Vero Beach, FL passed away October 14, 2016 at VNA Hospice House. Bob was born in Ashland, Illinois on July 15, 1922 to O.C. and Minnie Maddox Leinberger. On Oct 12, 1941 he married Vida Lou McLin. Two daughters, Janice Corey and Joyce Mitchell of Vero Beach; one granddaughter Gail (Chris) Burns, Haymarket, VA, two great-grandsons Mark and Michael Burns survive. Robert was active in Kiwanis and Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Petersburg, IL serving one term as President.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers John and Joe Leinberger of Petersburg, IL. Survivors include his sister Maxine (Floyd) Musch, Jacksonville, IL, sister-in-law Alice Leinberger, Springfield, IL, nine nieces and nephews, and step-son, Harold (Cheri) Krewson of Winter Haven, FL.
For many years Bob farmed with his dad and brothers near Chandlerville and Petersburg, IL. The original family homestead is now part of Jim Edgar Panther Creek State Fish Wildlife Area. During a successful career with A.O. Smith Harvestore, Bob was often top salesman for the company. Bob was especially proud of his friendship with Russell and Terry Hinrichs of Petersburg, IL. Russell lived with Bob and Vida Lou during his high school years and learned about farming.
In 1986, Bob married Irene Nelson Robinson who passed in 2008. In 1986 they moved to Vero Beach where he spent twenty years in real estate. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
