Dr. Robert A. Clowater, 89, of Vero Beach, Florida, died February 19, 2014 at Atlantic Health Care.

He was born August 14, 1924 in Moncton, New Brunswick. He graduated in medicine from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia and was a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. He later worked as the Hospital Administrator and Medical Director of North Shore Hospital in North Muskegon and Saginaw Community Hospital in Michigan. In 1987, Dr. Clowater retired from practice and resided at Higgins Lake, MI and in Vero Beach.

He is surivived by his wife of 62 years, Jean L. Clowater; children, Ann Miller, Robert G. Clowater, Cathy (Steve) Kueffner, Joan (David) Payne, Linda (Sean) Hilbert and Lorna (Bob) Coury; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister and four brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12 noon, Monday, February 24, 2014 at St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach.

Memorial donations may be made to the Neighborhood Apostolate at St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach.
