Robert S. Gerren passed
away at home on June 14, 2011.
He was born Feb. 2, 1928, in Kendallville, Ind.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Earl
and Mrytle Gerren; sister, Ruby Perry; and son,
Michael Gerren of Michigan.
Bob is survived by his wife, Georgia Gerren;
children, Judy Kimball, Linda Wotta, Ben Gerren
and Becky Dragiewicz, all of Michigan, Dan
Gerren (Cheryl) of Port St. Lucie, FL, Florence
(Hugh) Williams, Linda (Frank) Pearce of Okeechobee;
step-children, Shawn Taylor, Moe Lowe
and Lorraine Taylor, all of Michigan; sister, Ruth
Woods of Michigan; 14 grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren.
Bob was a member of the Okeechobee United
Methodist Church, the Masons, Shriners, Scottish
Rite and the American Legion.
During WWII, Bob proudly served his country
as a Merchant Marine in the South Pacific.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday,
June 17, 2011, at the Buxton- Seawinds
Chapel. Masonic services will follow the visitation.
A funeral service will be 11 a.m., Saturday,
June 18, 2011, at the United Methodist Church
with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
