Robert R. Gestrich, 81, of Vero Beach, FL died unexpectedly on Friday, April 13, 2012 in Vero Beach, Florida.

Bob was born October 27, 1930 in Steubenville, Ohio, to the late Raymond and Catherine Gestrich. He grew up in Canton, Ohio and attended the University of Cincinnatti prior to enlisting in the Marine Corps. He was married in 1950 to Luella Eleanor (Sis) Paul in Canton, Ohio. Following his military service, he returned to Ohio. In his career, he rose to the level of Vice-Presidet of a major corporation. After retiring in 1989, he and Sis moved to Vero Beach. He became an avid tennis player, and volunteer at Indian River Medical Center
.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years Luella Gestrich of Vero Beach, Fl; Sons Dr. Eric Gestrich of Sarasota, Fl; Kevin Gestrich of Nova Scotia; Marc Gestrich of Mystic, CT and Todd Gestrich of Marietta, GA; daughters Gayle Sudeck of Marietta, GA ; Lisa Polaske of Wildwood, MO; sister Betty Chiofolo of North Canton, OH and ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister Doris Hawkins.

A memorial service will be private.
