Robert "Bob" Bryan Gunter 84 of Vero Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on August 22, 2021. Bob was born in Vero Beach, Florida on August 16, 1937 to the late Joseph and Edith Gunter. He graduated from Vero beach High School in 1955. He went on to enlist in the United States Air Force, served as a Radar Technician in Germany and returned to the United States and fulfilled required reserves time until his honorable discharge in 1969.
Bob met his future wife, Margaret Ann Chadwick in 1959. They married on August 12, 1961 at Forest Park Baptist Church in Vero Beach, Florida.
Bob worked the family business known as Vero Beach Mattress Shop making mattresses and upholstering furniture along side his dad and brother, Bill. He later attended Jones College through the GI Bill and earned his BS Degree in Business Administration. Bob's favorite pastime was HAM Radio (K4ZWG) which he enjoyed for many years. He attended First Church of God. Bob enlisted in the Air Force Reserve in the late 70's. He made many friends and traveled to many places in the United States and Germany, retiring from the Military in 1993 after serving 24 years.
During Bob's life, he learned many occupations, operating and repairing heavy equipment, with his father-in-law. He switched direction and went into Real Estate Sales. Later he was employed by Indian River Property Appraisers Office and Indian River County Solid Waste Department. Bob was also employed by what was then the Indian River Memorial Hospital in in the Computer Data Processing Department. in 1997 Bob retired to run his adult homecare business with his wife and both of their daughters and ended in 2014 with the passing of their last patient, Charlie Zon.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Margaret; daughters, Lisa Moody and Sandy (Doug) Campbell both of Vero Beach; grandsons, Robbie of Vero Beach, Chad (Stephanie) Campbell of Warner Robbins, GA, Steven and Alex of Vero Beach; one granddaughter, Kathryn of Vero Beach; great grandchildren, Andrew, Zander, Trevor, Kahlee, Eli, Taylor, Cali, Sloan and Dylan; great great granddaughter, Sophia; brother, Jim (Phyllis) Gunter of Jacksonville, and several cousins and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Bill and son-in-law, Troy.
There will be no viewing or services. Interment and Military Honors will take place on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida.
