Robert John Malm, born in Estonia in 1925 to Edward and Laura Malm, came to the United States in 1928. His father was a merchant seaman. The family settled in Brooklyn, NY and Robert graduated from Brooklyn Tech.
He received a football scholarship to Illinois, but transferred after one year to Cornell, where he was a member of the football team in 1948-1950. Robert graduated from Cornell in 1951 with a bachelor's degree.
Robert served in the US Army Air Corps from 1944-1946, and then he served in the US Air Force, 1952-1953.
Then Robert started his career in Personal Management and recruitment. Robert worked for several companies, including Lee's Carpets, RCA, Freeport Sulphur, Thiokol, and Hercules. Later in life, Robert became an Investment Broker.
Robert first married Nancy Hiller in 1950. After this marriage ended in divorce he remarried, Rita P. Malm in 1970. They resided in New York City for many years and eventually moved to Jupiter, Florida. Robert moved to Vero Beach in 2005 after Rita passed away.
Robert is survived by his children: Robert Malm, and his wife, Leslie of Alexandria, VA; and Kristina Bryan of LaGrange, GA; a sister, Eleanor Foeller; two nieces and one nephew; seven grandchildren, Chris Malm; Desiree Stoecker and her husband, Chris; Kristin Lupien and her husband, John; Jonathan Bryan and his wife, Angie; Lindsey Malm; Jessica Farmer and her husband, Dan; and James Malm; and also five great grandchildren.
Robert was active at Christ Church in Vero Beach, where a Memorial Service will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at 10:00am.
