Robert J. McNierney, Sr., age 73, died Friday, Mar. 25, 2011, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Ft. Pierce, Fla. Born in Kingston, N. Y., he had been a resident of Okeechobee for 15 years.
After 30 years of employment, he retired from IBM as a program manager. He stayed busy locally by holding various jobs. His hobbies included fishing, camping, traveling, and photography. He held a lifetime membership with the NRA.
Survivors include his wife Jane; sons, Robert (Merry) McNierney, Jr. of South Riding, Vir., Michael (Joann) McNierney of California; daughters, Kim (Bob) Lavender of Sebastian, Fla., Lisa (Mike) Morgan of Boca Raton, Fla.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; step-son, Skip (Melissa) Christiano of Lake Worth, Fla.; sister-in-law, Bernice McNierney; and a host of nieces and nephews.
