Robert G. Oakley, 89, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away April 11, 2019.

He was born October 20, 1929 in Astoria, NY and had been a resident of Vero Beach for 28 years, coming from Long Island, NY.

Mr. Oakley served in the 511th Parachute Infantry Regiment within the 11th Airborne Division of the United States Army during WWII and the Korean War.

He was an avid bowler and played on many bowling leagues in Vero Beach.

He leaves his memories to be cherished by his son, Robert G. (Christine) Oakley Jr. of Selden, NY; daughter, Lois (Carlos) Solorzano of Ashburn, VA; daughter, Lori (Lenny) Desantis of East Patchogue, NY; son, Hal (Joan) Oakley of Selden, NY; sister, Helen Carr of New Jersey; brother, Harold Oakley Jr.; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his wife, Lynne; daughter, Sharon Scott and son, John Oakley.

The burial of Mr. and Mrs. Oakley will take place at Long Island National Cemetery at a later date.
