Robert H. Peterson (92), died October 5, 2016 in Vero Beach, Fl. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa. and lived in Vero Beach for 36 years, coming from York, Pennsylvania.
He was a member of Asbury United Methodist in Vero Beach, having served in several capacities. He was a Master Mason for over 50 years, in White Rose Lodge F&AM 706, in York, PA, and had been a member of Scottish Rite Temple of Harrisburg, PA. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was employed for 30 years by S Morgan Smith Co. and later the Allis Chalmers Co. in York, PA. and prior to early retirement was the company's Chief Estimator. During his employment with the company, he developed and managed the Rolling Acres Mobile Home Park which consisted of 63 mobile homes for 25 years.
After retirement, and the sale of the mobile home park, he moved to Vero Beach, Florida. Having always been a boat enthusiast, he joined the Coast Guard Auxiliary and served as teacher and helped on patrols in the Indian River and ocean.
He is survived by his son Robert Jr., his daughter Janice Jesmer, his son Mark, all of Vero Beach, and his son Scott of West Palm Beach. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Virginia Carolyn Peterson, and his wife, Alice Peterson.
A memorial service will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church at a date to be determined.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Etzweiler Funeral Home, 1111 E. Market St., York, Pennsylvania. A graveside and Interment will follow be at Mt. Rose Cemetery in York, Pennsylvania.
