Robert R. Rausch, 86, of Vero Beach, FL passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at his home.
Mr. Rausch was born August 4, 1923 in Chicago, IL and moved to Vero Beach in 1979 from Springfield, VA.
He had been the Chief of Currency and Stamp Printing at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, a branch of the U.S. Treasury in Washington, D.C., and was a veteran of WW II, serving in the US Army Artillery. Mr. Rausch was a member of Columbia Masonic Lodge in Arlington, Virginia, the Plate Printers Union and the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Vero Beach. After retiring, he learned to fly, getting his pilots license, and flew doctors, nurses and supplies to Homestead after Hurricane Andrew.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Jane E. Rausch of Vero Beach, sons Robert S. Rausch of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and William C. Rausch of Deltona, FL, daughter Patricia D. Rausch of Vero Beach, brother Clarence H. Rausch of Henderson, NV and three loving grandchildren.
