Robert T. Schaefer, 77 of Sebastian, Fl died Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Sebastian River medical center.
He was born March 15, 1932 in New York City, NY and was a resident of Indian River County for 16 years, coming from Long Island, NY.
Mr. Schaefer was a steamfitter and member of Local #638 for 40 years, he was a business owner and a Golden Glove Champion. He served in the US Navy, during the Korean war.
Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Peggy Schaefer of Sebastian, FL; daughters: Candice Stathis of Long Island, NY, Robin Schaefer of Tampa, FL, Kim Schaefer of Long Island, FL; sons: Steven Schaefer of Long Island, NY, Robert Schaefer, Jr. of Long Island, NY; step-sons: Peter F. Olsen, Jr of Jacksonville, FL, Kris Olsen of Los Angeles, CA; brothers Walter Schaefer of White Stone, NY, Edward Schaefer of Long Island, NY, Richard Schaefer of West Palm Beach, FL and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother John Schaefer.

Celebration of life will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Park Place Clubhouse in Sebastian, FL.
