Robert Frank Schuessler, 74, of Vero Beach, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014.

He was born on October 26, 1939 in Newark, NJ and lived in Vero Beach.

A successful engineer, businessman and builder, Bob grew up in the Catholic faith in New Jersey, playing basketball for Worchester Polytechnic Institute and obtaining his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. After serving in the US AirForce, Bob worked for such companies as Bell Telephone, Top Flight, Fortifiber and Majestic Industries. His talent gave him a United States patent and brought him around the world as a consultant on engineering projects. Bob designed and built some of his own homes, along with the condominiums on Bahia Mar here in Vero.

Bob loved the outdoors, spending his leisure time gardening, playing basketball and tennis, fishing, boating and sailing. He obtained his pilot's license and his 100 ton captain's license. A curious man by nature, enjoying a challenge, Bob was usually fixing and tinkering, finding projects both big and small, and befriending all those he came to weave into the patchwork fabric of his life.

Bob impacted many lives with his unique energetic influence, blessing him with many wonderful, caring friends. He shared his love of life and his love of his children and grandchildren with everyone. Bob has left an unforgettable mark on many a heart, and would wish us all to remember him happy, living his life to the fullest at all times, always swinging, to the very end.

Survivors include his daughters, Vicky Schuessler and Theresa (Brian) Cavrak; son Rob (Cheryl) Schuessler; sister Ruth Mary (James) Coyman; seven grandchildren, Brett, Megan, Tyler, Tim, Zane, Nick and James; and his faithful dog Rusty.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral home with Rev. L.C. Campbell officiating.
