Robert C. Zehnacker's Obituary
Robert C. Zehnacker, 85, of Vero Beach died Monday, January 9, 2012 at the VNA Hospice House.
Mr. Zehnacker was born December 9, 1926 in Poughkeepsie, NY. He had been a resident of Vero Beach since 1999, coming from Highland, NY.
Robert served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and was a member of the American Legion.
Prior to his retirement he worked as a postal carrier for 27 years. After moving to Vero Beach, Robert taught third grade reading as a volunteer for 9 years at Citrus Elementary.
He was a parishioner at Saint Helen Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Joan Zehnacker, and brother, Raymond Zehnacker of Rockville, MD.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA & Hospice Foundation- Attention: Home Healthcare - 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
Service: A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Monday, January 16, 2012 at Saint Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach
