Roberta C. Finnigan, 81, of Vero Beach, FL lived a full and active life until her death on January 3, 2010.
Roberta was born August 25, 1928 and was raised in the Bronx, NY. She married Troy Baber and moved to Levittown, NY in 1950 where she raised her two children Robert H. Baber and Gilia (Jill) Baber while working for New York Telephone. During her 35 years with NY Telephone, Roberta was an active member and officer for the Telephone Pioneers. Prior to retirement from the phone company she married the love of her life, John M. Finnigan, and they relocated to Spanish Lakes in Fort Pierce, FL where they lived for 27 years . Together Roberta and John travelled, played cards, swam and made good times wherever they were. In 2006, they moved to the Isles of Vero Beach where they increased their circle of friends.
Roberta is survived by her husband John Finnigan, daughter Jill Peterson and husband Patrick and their children Cynthia and Kurt Peterson; son Robert Baber, and his children Ciara, Cara, Cody and Jacqueline Baber. Survivors also include Maureen Finnigan and Chris Delosh, Ellen Donnelly and Warren Savage, Sheila and Jack Sweeney and their children, Jack and Rose Finnigan and their children and Mark and Darlene Finnigan and their children, and Kevin Finnigan.
Robertas motto was to live each day to the fullest by sharing a laugh, swim or card game with friends or family regardless of lifes ups and downs.
Services: A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, February 5, 2010 at the Isles of Vero Beach, 1700 Waterford Drive, Vero Beach, FL.
