Roger F. Clukey (87) of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away on May 29, 2023.

Roger was born to Clifford and Sylvia Clukey in Dexter, Maine on July 4, 1935. Following his graduation from high school in 1954, Roger enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was trained as an Aviation Electrician and was ordered to Airborne Early Warning Squadron Fifteen in 1955. Roger later met and married his wife Marjorie and they enjoyed many years of marriage and travel. Following thirty years of service to his country and the U.S. Navy, Roger retired with the title of Chief Petty Officer, having earned the Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, the Good Conduct Service Medal (five times), and the National Defense Service Medal. Roger later went on to work for Northrop Grumman before he retired and settled in Vero Beach. During the early years of his retirement Roger was an avid horseshoe player, bowler, and fisherman and was active in many leagues.

Roger is survived by his daughter Joyce Sheppard and husband Ernie; daughter Michelle Phillips and husband Bob, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Roger was preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Sylvia Clukey, brother Robert Clukey, sister Judith Batchelder, and his wife Marjorie Clukey.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 , at 10:00 a.m. at Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory, 1950 20th Street, Vero Beach, Florida 32960. Live Streaming of the service is available by CLICKING HERE .  Roger will later be interred at Florida National Cemetery with military honors on June 22, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in his name to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
