Obituary

Roland Francis Pepin, aged 91, passed away on August 30, 2024, in Port St. Lucie, Florida. He had been a resident of Spanish Lakes Fairways in Fort Pierce, FL for the past 29 years, since retiring in 1995.

Born in Central Falls, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Paul and Lea (Charpentier) Pepin. Roland was preceded in death by his loving wife Estelle Dorothy (Beauregard) Pepin, his siblings Paul Pepin Jr., Loretta Morris, and Marie Lillian Genereux. He is survived by his son Kenneth Pepin and his wife Marianne; his daughter Rebecca Maddock; son Gary Pepin and his wife Maureen; daughter Renee Snook and her husband Colin; his loving sisters, Rita Marques and Doris Laramie; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Roland was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Central Falls, RI. His commitment to service was evident through his tenure in the US Coast Guard, where he proudly served for three years. Professionally, Roland dedicated many years to the grocery industry, working as a Deli Department Manager at First National Supermarkets until 1980, followed by a career as an Inventory Specialist at Electric boat in Quonset, RI, until his retirement in 1995.

A devout Christian, Roland was an active member of St. Helen's Church in Vero Beach, FL and St. Edwards Parish in Pawtucket, RI. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, often expressed through his love for singing. He participated in various church choirs, church social clubs, Men's glee clubs, including the Barbershop singing group at Spanish Lakes Fairways in Fort Pierce, FL, and had been a member of Les Gais Chanteurs men's singing group in Pawtucket, RI. Additionally, he was an active member of The Knights of Columbus in Vero Beach, FL.

Services will be held at St. Raymond's Church on Main St., Providence, RI. on TBD. Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory in Vero Beach, FL is assisting with the arrangements.

Roland will be remembered as a very unselfish, hardworking, and giving family man, whose legacy of love and dedication will live on through those who knew him.
