Obituary

Ronald Jackson Boling, 90, of Vero Beach, died Monday, January 16, 2023, surrounded by his family.

He was born September 17, 1932, to Marvin J. and Mattie Mae Dark Boling in Chatham County, North Carolina. He graduated Jordan Matthews High School in 1950 and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Mr. Boling served in the United States Army from 1954-55 and was stationed at Ft. Carson, Colorado. He married the love of his life, Sarah Jane (Janie) Stanley, in 1955. They lived in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he worked in real estate, she taught elementary school, and they raised their two sons. In 1968 Mr. Boling graduated Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina, with a B.A. in Business Management. He became an auditor and controller for national department store chains and relocated his family to Dallas, San Antonio, Tampa, and Houston.

Janie died in 1984 and he never remarried.

He retired to Vero Beach in 1996. Mr. Boling was active at GraceSpring Church in Vero Beach. He demonstrated his Christian faith with humility and steadfast stewardship. He was known for his ready wit, pithy diction, and wry humor.

Mr. Boling is survived by his sons Ron Boling, Jr., of Albuquerque, and Eugene Stanley (Angela) Boling of Vero Beach; his grandchildren Rachel Shappie (Neal), Sarah Barnard (Brian), Daniel Boling, and Maggie Boling; and six great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3PM, Saturday, February 11, 2023 at GraceSpring Church 1955 20th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, February 13, 2023 at Mansion Memorial Park Cemetery in Ellenton, Florida.
