Rosalie Theresa Gambino, 91, of Vero Beach, FL died Saturday, March 28, 2009 at her home.
Mrs. Gambino was born June 28, 1917 in Delaware Water Gap, PA and had been a resident of Vero Beach since 1977, coming here from Little Falls, NJ.
She was a seamstress for ILGWU for 35 years before becoming the seamstress for several specialty shops on Ocean Drive in Vero Beach. She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach where she was also a member of the St. Helen Forever Young group and the St. Helen Rosary Makers Society.
Survivors include her son and daughter in law Rosario and Phyllis Gambino of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughter and son in law Rosemary and Robert Valentino of Vero Beach; sister Mary McLean of Whiting, NJ; brother and sister in law Leonard and Ellen Contarino of Gulf Breeze, FL; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years Samuel Gambino, a son Joseph Gambino, and a brother Joseph Contarino.
Services: The family will receive friends 4-7 PM, Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach with a prayer service at 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM, Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach. Interment will follow at the Mausoleum of Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Ft. Pierce, FL.
