Rose Catherine Cook, 92, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Consulate Health Care in Melbourne, Fl.
Mrs. Cook was born July 7, 1915 in Bitumen, Pennsylvania and had been a resident of Melbourne since 1972 coming from Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
Earlier in her life she had been a Kindergarten Teacher; and while her boys, Harry and Jerry, were growing up, served as a Den Mother. During her years in Melbourne, Fl she was quite active at Ascension Catholic Church. She was one of the founders of Ascension Funeral Choir, Past President of the Ascension Womens Guild and was honored to have been Woman of the Year of the Womans Guild. She was a loyal member of NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees) and was a member of the Red Hat Luncheon Group.
She is survived by her sons, Harry A. Cook of Camdenton, Missouri and Jerome W. Cook of Rockford, Illinois; 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by many friends all of whom loved her, and she will be missed by all whose lives she has touched!!
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2008 from 3 to 5 PM at Davis-Seawinds Funeral Home, Melbourne. The Rosary will be recited at 3:30 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Ascension Catholic Church, Melbourne. Emtombment will follow at Fountainhead Memorial Gardens, Palm Bay, Fl.
