IN LOVING MEMORY OF

Boyd
February 8, 1941 – October 21, 2023
Roy "Jim" Boyd entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 21, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born to the late Mary Deel and Alonzo "Lonzie" Boyd on February 8, 1941 in Grundy, Virginia. He was raised in the Virginia mountains with his four siblings, Junior, Otis, Carvel, and Alice Faye. He joined the Army in 1961. After serving in the military, he moved to Washington, DC, where he met his wife of 52 years, Ann Yankowski Boyd. They met on a dance floor and have been dancing ever since.
They married in 1970 and moved to Florida before relocating to Aiken, South Carolina where he worked at the Savannah River Site. He worked as an operating engineer and was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 675 in Florida and Local 470 in South Carolina. He retired from Savannah River Site in 2001.
He and Ann moved to Vero Beach in 2016 where he attended Grace Baptist Church. He loved reading, golfing, hunting, and spending time with his family most of all. He loved music and enjoyed traveling and attending bluegrass festivals with his family after retirement. He always had a joke to tell and always had a smile on his face. He was patient and kind and extremely proud of his family.
He was the best husband, father, and grandfather anyone could have asked for.
He is survived by his wife Ann Boyd, of Vero Beach; his brother, Carvel Boyd, of Delaware; and his two children Jim Boyd, of Williamsburg, NC; and Cheryl (Adam) Nasse, of Charleston, SC.
