Mr. Roy Ted Tyson, 65, of Vero Beach, Florida died Friday, June 14, 2013 at his home.

Mr. Tyson was born in Tuskegee, Alabama on August 5, 1947 and moved to Vero Beach in 1987 from Smyrna, Georgia.

He was a Christian man. Mr. Tyson had been active as a surveyor, boilermaker, umpire/coach, a riveter for Grumann Aircraft and worked in the hospitality field.

Surviving family members include his wife of 42 years Peggy Jean Tyson of Vero Beach, sons Joseph Curtis Tyson of Vero Beach and Timothy Ted Tyson of Alabama, and Jeffrey John Murphy, daughters Tina Kay Tyson of Melbourne and Rebecca Jean Patterson of Vero Beach, brothers Pepper Tyson of Georgia, Robert Tyson of Mississippi, Horace Tyson of Alabama, Donald Tyson of Alabama, Mickey Tyson of Alabama and David Tyson of Alabama, a sister Lavinia Davis of Georgia, seven grandchildren, Andrew DeWitt of the U.S Navy, Lauren Tyson of Dallas Texas, Danielle Bernagozzi of Florida, Sarah Tyson of Tuscaloosa, Ty and Alaina Patterson of Vero Beach, and Joseph Curtis Tyson III of Vero Beach.

He was preceded in death by brothers Carl Tyson, Thomas Tyson and Ronald Tyson and also a baby sister Angel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Roy Ted Tyson family.

SERVICES: A Life Celebration Service will begin at 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach with Pastor Buddy Tipton officiating.
