Ruth Richards Corcoran, 86, of Vero Beach, FL died Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the Atlantic Healthcare Center in Vero Beach.
Ruth was born April 15, 1924 in Elizabeth, New Jersey and moved to Vero Beach in the mid 90's
when she wed Ray Corcoran.
She graduated from Batton High School, Elizabeth, New Jersey and retired from General Magnaplate, Linden, NJ, where she served as the Corporate Secretary and assistant to the President. Throughout her life, Ruth was an ardent supporter and volunteer for the American Red Cross. She also devoted her time to the Girl Scouts of America and was a member of the Board of Directors for the local YWCA.
Survivors include her step-son, Barry L. Corcoran of Westfield, NJ and R. Guy Corcoran of Warren, RI, nephew, George A. Richards of Kitty Hawk, NC and niece, Jane Kimmel of Watchung, NJ.
She is preceded in death by husband, Ray and her brother, George R. Richards, Jr.
Services: No services are planned at this time.
