Ruth A. Nilles Harris, 83, of Vero Beach, died Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Green Gables Assisted Living Facility.
Mrs. Harris was born January 9, 1928 in Pocahontas, IA. She had been a resident of the Treasure Coast for 15 years.
She was of the Catholic faith.
Prior to her retirement she worked as a bookkeeper for a heavy equipment company.
Survivors include her sons, John Nilles of Port Saint Lucie, Gerald Nilles of Vero Beach, and Richard Nilles of Clyde, NC; sisters, Eileen & Alice; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 15 years, Thomas Harris; son, William Nilles; brothers, Gerald, Edward, and Robert.
At the request of Mrs. Harris there will be no services held.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the VNA Hospice House at 901 37th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
