Ruth Katherine Yates, 79, of Vero Beach, FL, died Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Palm Garden of Vero Beach.
Mrs. Yates was born February 13, 1930 in Old Forge, NY and moved to Vero Beach four years ago from Tampa, FL.
She was a graduate of the Nursing Program at the Bronx Hospital in Bronx, NY. Prior to retirement she worked at the Veterans Hospital in Tampa, FL for 12 years and also worked for Indian River Memorial Hospital in Vero Beach for 30 years.
Survivors include her sons John Wirth Jr., William R. Yates and Clarence B. Yates all of Vero Beach, FL; daughters Patricia A. Metzger and Lynne Yates both of Lutz, FL; and six grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ervin Yates.
Services: A private service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer Parkinson Association of Indian River County, 2501 27th Avenue, Suite A-8, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
