Dr. Salvatore Lawrence Spallone, 76, of Vero Beach, Florida, sadly passed away December 29, 2018, at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, FL after a 4-month battle recovering from surgical complications.

He was born August 2, 1942, in Newark, NJ and had been a resident of Vero Beach for 36 years, coming from Coral Springs, FL.

Dr. Spallone was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam era.  He served as a Captain practicing dentistry in South Korea prior to being transferred to Columbus, GA.

Dr. Spallone, a practicing dentist for over 50 years, was the owner of Spallone Family Dentistry in Vero Beach.  He partially retired with his wife Arlene beside him in April 2016.  Dr. Spallone will forever be admired and loved by all who knew him.

He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach, as well as the American Dental Association, Treasure Coast Dental Society and Florida Dental Association.

He leaves his memories to be cherished by his wife of 50 years, Arlene Spallone; children, Tina (Gregory) Herzik, Dr. Tiffany (Greg McLean) Spallone and Salvatore (Tatiana) Spallone; grandchildren, Cole Herzik, Anna McLean, Kathryn McLean, Ava Spallone and Mia Spallone expected in April 2019; siblings, Kathleen Scott, Anthony Spallone, Lynn Spallone, Mary Jane Spallone; sister-in-law, Linda (George) Zimmer; his beloved dog, Chanel, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A visitation will be held 1:00-3:00 pm and 5:00-7:00 pm, Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, Vero Beach.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 pm, Sunday, January 6, 2019, at St. Helen Catholic Church with burial to follow at Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach.
