Sharon R. Rayner, 80 passed away October 25, 2024, after a short illness. She was born November 9, 1943, in Niagara Falls, NY. She had retired from the American Red Cross in Vero Beach, Florida after many years of service as director of emergency services. Her previous years of work were in Syracuse, New York included Supervisor for Mutual of New York, and later Niagara Mohawk power company.
Her jobs let her be a volunteer for the American Red Cross before retiring from both and becoming a full-time employee for the American Red Cross in Vero Beach. Her many assignments as an American Red Cross volunteer and employee were many. The mass feeding of the first responders after 91 1 in NYC, and wildfires in Colorado, Earthquake in California among many.
She was a member of St. Augustine Canterbury Episcopal Church where she was a member of the Vespiary.
She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Ruth Rayner and her sister Carolyn Rayner, she is survived by her sister Marilyn (Donald) Thompson of Cato, NY niece Kathy (Derrick ) Stewart and nephew Christopher Streich of Riverview, Florida. She will be missed by her many friends and colleagues.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the discretion of the family as she will be buried in Cato Union Hill Cemetery with her sister Carolyn.
