Shelby Williamson Terry, age 87, of Smithfield, Virginia passed away peacefully on Monday, July 1, 2024 in Vero Beach, Florida. Shelby was born in 1937 in Whiteville, North Carolina to Emily and Willie Williamson. She spent her early childhood in Whiteville, with her family relocating during her grammar school years to Newport News, Virginia. There she met the love of her life, Charles Thomas Terry, as a teenager. They were married several years later and enjoyed the next 61 years together in both Virginia and Florida.

Shelby was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Charles; and her two siblings, Robert Williamson and Charles Williamson. She is survived by her son Charles Thomas Terry, Jr. and his wife Angie; her daughter Cynthia Galant and her husband Mark; and two grandchildren, Tyler Galant and Kendall Galant.

Shelby was a strong, independent woman full of spirit from her first days to her last. She loved her family fiercely, and enjoyed her last years with them and their three little Shih Tzus in the warmth and sunshine of Florida.
