Sherald Douglas Milton, 70, of Vero Beach, FL died Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at his home.
Mr. Milton was born July 14, 1938 in Fort Pierce, FL and moved to Vero Beach in 1961 from his place of birth.
A graduate of Dan McCarty High School in Ft. Pierce, he had owned Artistic First Florist in Vero Beach before retiring and had served in the US Navy. Mr. Milton was an active member of the First Church of God in Vero Beach, serving as an Elder, and was a member of Gideons International and the Vero Beach Jaycees.
Survivors include his daughters, Cheryl Miller of Vero Beach, Donna Haynes of Vero Beach, and Paula LaPorte of Columbus, GA; brothers Willie Milton and Kenneth Milton both of Flemingsburg, KY; sister Kay Cosser of Vero Beach; nine grandchildren Jerry LaPorte of Jacksonville, FL, Barry Miller, II of Gainesville, FL, Nicole Bone Columbus, GA, Ashely Eldridge of Tavares, FL, Andrew Schmeer of Gainesville, FL, Alex Miller of Vero Beach, FL, Alison Schmeer of Gainesville, FL, Suzanne Haynes of Port St. John, FL and Kendrick Haynes of Port St. John, FL; and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife Edith Milton. parents Bert and Leatha Milton, and two brothers Carl and Dean Milton.
Services: A Home Going Celebration will take place 2:00 pm Sunday, May 17, 2009 at the First Church of God in Vero Beach, FL with military honors provided by VFW Post 3918.
