Sherri Lynn Chandler, 69, of Sebastian, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024 with her husband by her side after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Sherri was born to Beatrice and Buddy Thompson in Tampa, Florida on December 24, 1954. After relocating to Indian River County, she met her husband, Richard in 1977 and they were wed in July of 1982. Sherri retired from Walgreens and was a member of the St. Sebastian Catholic Church.

Sherri was known for her amazing cooking, feisty spirit, witty words, infectious laugh, and beautiful smile. She loved to laugh, sing and dance. Sherri was also an avid reader and enjoyed caring for her flowers and traveling to visit friends and family in Mesick, Michigan where she looked forward to hosting the first day of a weekend long family reunion each year.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Thompson; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Chandler and grandson, Taylor Oliver

Sherri is survived by her husband of 42 years, Richard Chandler of Sebastian; sister, Deborah (Chuck) Jewitt of Bradenton; brother, Martin Thompson of Melbourne; children, Stephanie (Cheyne) Lowery of Vero Beach; Jeff Chandler of Sebastian, Jill (Bill) Rollinger of Sebastian and nieces, Dinah Blalock and Stephanie Davis of Tampa. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Tate (Miriam) Albritton of Naples, Florida, Alexis (Tyler) Williams of Sebastian, Dalton Chandler of Sebastian, Britney Lowery-Shoaf of Vero Beach, Tanner Chandler of Sebastian, Aiyana Hilliard of Vero Beach, Robbie Timmerman of Sebastian, Lilly Rollinger and Levi Rollinger of Sebastian as well as three great -grandchildren: Lainey, Reagan and Zander.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 11:30 am Saturday, October 19, 2024 at the Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach, Florida. A Celebration of Sherri's Life will begin at 11:30 am followed by a reception.
