Stephen Duane
Parks
March 30, 1953 – November 11, 2021
Stephen Duane Parks, 68, of Vero Beach, FL died and went to be with the Lord on November 11, 2021 due to a Thoracic Aorta Dissection. He was born to the late Duane and Jane Parks in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on March 30, 1953. He graduated from Cypress Lake High School in Fort Myers, FL in 1971 and received his BS in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University in 1988. He worked in the construction management business at Gerdau for 42 years and retired as a Division Manager in 2015.
He married the love of his life, Diane, in 1985. Their journey together started in Fort Lauderdale, FL at New Horizon United Methodist Church. Over the years, Steve served as the Lay Leader at Forrest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church in Hurricane, WV and as a Deacon and an Elder at Spanish River Church in Boca Raton, FL, and led his family in a Youth Group Mission Trip to Mexico.
Steve served his community well as a Rotarian and Club President, building a Habitat for Humanity House. He was also a member of the Chamber of Commerce and was awarded the 2000 Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award in Hurricane, WV. Steve enjoyed his role as a consultant for Junior Achievement, helping middle school students relate to business. Steve coached Brad's soccer, baseball and basketball teams throughout his youth.
In addition to his wife Diane, Steve is survived by his son, Bradley Parks, and daughter, Emily (Zac) Trahan and grandsons, Marshall and Griffin Trahan. He is also survived by his four sisters, Suzanne (Tom) Luft of Green Bay, WI; Nancy Jo (Phil) Channer of North Fort Myers, FL; Mary Jane (the late Howard) Plasman of Fort Myers, FL; Barbara (Scott) Azinger of Fox Island, Washington; an aunt, an uncle, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was proceeded in death by his mother in law, Barbara Vacanti, and is survived by his father in law, Anthony (Jean) Vacanti of Vero Beach, FL.
His life of service will be honored
on November 17, 2021 at 11:00am
at Spanish River Church,
