Obituary

STEVEN PAUL WEINKRANTZ, born August 29, 1949 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Bernard and Bertha Weinkrantz, passed away on July 20, 2011. In 1967 Steven graduated from South Broward High School. From 1969 to 1973 Steven proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He later attended Broward Community College where he trained to become a police officer. He served as a police officer in Broward County for 11 years prior to moving to the Port St. Lucie Police Department where he worked for 28 years. He was a Past Worshipful Master of Cornerstone Masonic Lodge #386 F & AM, Past Grand Royal Patron of Florida Order of the Amaranth and Past Monarch of Semi-No-Grotto.
He will be greatly missed by family, friends, co-workers and all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Dawn Weinkrantz; children, Christopher Weinkrantz and Heather Herrick; grandchildren, James and Seth Mattocks; sister, Seema Kramer; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Stevens life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 23, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church, 2404 Walton Road with Dr. James E. Nimmo, III, Pastor.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Stevens name to the American Diabetes Research Foundation, www.diabetes.org/donate or Treasure Coast Hospice, 5090 Dunn Rd., Fort Pierce, FL 34981.
