Steven Craig Shackley, Sr., 70 of Vero Beach, passed away on January 4, 2016 in Indian River Medical Center. He was born in Maryland and raised in Boynton Beach, Florida.

On December 8, 1967, Steven married the love of his life, Linda Brewer. They met at Radio Corporation America. Steven and Linda had three children that he loved dearly, Stephanie Ann, Linda Ann, and Steven Craig JR. Steven loved his family with all his heart and was very close to his older brothers Robert and Brooks. In 1967 Steven started a very long career in banking, and retired five years ago. He worked for several banks through out his career to include Southtrust, Wachovia, and Marine Bank just to name a few. Through out his life Steven wanted his family to love and care for each other. Steven loved watching NASCAR and his favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Senior. Steven cared about what was going on in the community. He would Daily search the surrounding counties arrest records for that current day because he enjoyed having the knowledge of what was going on in the community. Steven loved going on vacation with his wonderful wife Linda to the Mountains. Before his passing he enjoyed life with nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his father, Robert and brother, Robert, he is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Linda; children, Stephanie (James) Turcotte, Linda (Timothy) Kilbourne and Steven Jr; 9 grandchildren and 2 great; his mother, Opal Shackley; brother, Brooks (Joyce) Shackley; sister in law, Mary Lou Shackley; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 8, 2016 from 12:00 until 1:00 PM, and a funeral service will begin at 1:00 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach.
